For many years the Basket Raffle has been an integral part of the GMCW Spring Affair. It is special for two reasons: First, it gives everyone a chance to participate. Second, it's "just plain fun."
What is a basket raffle?
Themed baskets are filled with all kinds of good stuff, the baskets are displayed and raffle tickets are sold at the Spring Affair, and the winning tickets are drawn at the end of the evening.
Who donates the baskets?
Baskets are donated by individuals, couples, families, friends, small ensembles, chorus sections, and businesses.
What are some examples of basket themes?
Previous themes have included kitty stuff, coffee, pasta, plumbers' tools, lottery tickets, money tree, kitchen gadgets, pets, bath & body, Brokeback Mountain, wine/cheese, beauty supplies, Dreamgirls, chocolate, chocolate and champagne, doggy stuff, a Tiffany gift certificate, and many more. The aim is to be creative using useful new items.
How can I help if I don't have the time or skills to put together a basket? You can provide us the ingredients for the basket or you can make a donation and we'll purchase the basket and the items. In either case, will put it all together and make it pretty for you.
How do I get my basket to you?
Baskets, items, or donations may be delivered to rehearsal on any Sunday prior to the Spring Affair or to the chorus office during the week. Ready baskets may be brought directly to the Spring Affair site on the day of the event.
