Our Season: Everything gAy to Z |
Imagine a gathering with 125 GLBT choruses — more than 5000 singers and friends who get together from around the United States and the world to sing for one another. The Gay Men's Chorus of Washington sang at such an event, the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses Festival 8, which took place in Miami from July 12-19. It is thrilling to sing for an audience filled with more than 2,000 of your peers. The love and acceptance you feel when you walk on the stage is incredible.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to feel that acceptance every day of the year? While we have come a long way, we still have work to do. We have planned our 28th GMCW season with that thought in mind. I am very excited to share our 2008-2009 season with you. We're calling it everything gAy to Z. In each concert we will celebrate
our pride as gay men and women, singing about everything gay. 2009 is the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City. What better time to explore gay
history and gay culture?
