Dear Friends of the Chorus,

When an organization like GMCW has a mission that includes the terms “champions gay equality” and “delights the audience with fun and surprise”, it creates a blank canvas on which we can paint so many different kinds of meaningful musical pictures for you.

GMCW begins the new year with an exciting project – a moving, joyful, and wonderful show called THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT to be presented on Saturday, February 18. The show accentuates the fact that we are each a unique, one-of-a-kind, precious person. We are fun, quirky, and delightful – and we want to embrace and enjoy it. In the show we get to sing and share experiences about our youth, about feeling different and about growing up to be whomever we want to be.

We are delighted that we’ve moved our February show out of a church into Lisner Auditorium, which allows us more latitude to have more space, more fun and provide greater surprises to our audience.

You will also be treated with a performance by DREAMS OF HOPE, a Pittsburgh based creative and performing arts group for queer youth and allies. They will present a segment from their original new show “Being in, Being OUT”, which explores the journey of belonging..

Bringing DREAMS OF HOPE from Pittsburgh to DC is one of the ways that GMCW reaches out to the youth through our GenOUT program. Every day LGBTA youth deal with the social stigmas and hurtful words and actions from the people they trust the most – peers, teachers and parents. GMCW’s GenOUT program works with area GSA sponsors and student leaders providing free tickets to youth, parents and teachers at area high schools, youth groups and organizations that serve LGBTA youth.

Join us on February 18. You will have an amazing time.

Happy New Year,
